Healing on the Streets 22nd October 2011

Saturday was fun. We took our new batch of flyers out onto the High Street and, as we ministered, we were accompanied by the strains of a guy on panpipes! That was different, but then every time we go out is different some way or another. For me, I found myself in conversation with people far more than usual, which was great as I like talking!
  • It was, and is, an absolute joy to pray with everyone, but the first person was a young lady from a local church plant. Her church really wanted to see healing happening in the church so we prayed an anointing on her and her church family - so exciting! We offered to help them (if needed) as they set out in this ministry. Such an encouragement.
  • We prayed with a believer who had broken his back. We prayed for pain relief and general healing and he said it felt lighter as we prayed, praise God. We also prayed for his ministry and advocacy.
  • A lovely young lady came for prayer to protect her from a recurrence of a previous illness. We prayed complete healing and peace over her and she said she felt peace afterwards.
  • Two ladies came for prayer. They both have church connections and one has had prayer a number of times against ataxia. She had prayer again today and Holy Spirit really touched her. Her friends had been having trouble with her eyes, back and foot and said that she felt warmth all over as we prayed. Thank you, Lord.
  • We were able to pray with a couple of team members. The first was against a long-term ailment - he was definitely much calmer afterwards. The other friend received prayer against anxiety.
  • We met a guy who goes to 'Hungry for God' on a Thursday evening, and were able to pray God's blessing and favour over him.
We got into a number of conversations, as I mentioned above. One guy had been coming to Trinity but hasn't for a while. He said he'd enjoyed it. While we spoke, a friend of his phoned him and he said the lady had tried to kill herself that week. It was suggested he bring her to church or one of the social events and he seemed to like the idea. He didn't have prayer at the time, but bless them both, Lord.

Another chap didn't want to take a card but called 'thank you'. We responded 'you're welcome. Have a good day.' 'And you.' 'Bless you' we called back. He stopped. 'Actually, what are you doing here?' he asked and we got into a conversation. He was a young guy who looked as if he went to the gym and could handle himself and yet he said that, despite he was currently learning about Christianity, he was too scared to go to church yet as he didn't like groups of people. So much for first impressions. I hope he felt God's love from us.

We don't often get abuse, but a guy shouted at us that what we were doing was rubbish and we were just after people's money. Well, we don't take people's money and what God does isn't fake, so we gently spoke to him and told him that what we do is free and that we are from a church. He mellowed and said his Mum was a vicar (!), before taking a card.

I pray the Lord will hasten a searching and a finding of Him in all these guys hearts and lives. What an amazing day!
