Healing on the Streets 7th May 2011

This Saturday was The Noise Project at Trinity Cheltenham. This is a project we do each year where people go into the community and do projects (gardening, decorating, carpeting, etc) to bring the Lord to those in need. Healing on the Streets just happened to fall on the same day, so we were able to come under the Noise banner - bringing transformation to the community. We joined them for worship at 8am and then had our own worship at 9am, so, by the time we went out we were thoroughly soaked.... and we could have been utterly sopping too had not the Lord stopped the rain at 10am! We'd told people He would do it and now they believe us! I think the gardeners were probably grateful too, so thanks God!

During the course of the morning we had a variety of things to pray into. Requests even came by text! Despite all those times I've felt like throwing a computer out of a window, I am convinced God can work through technology! Here are a few highlights;

- A 15 year old had been suffering stomach pain for weeks and was taken into hospital. We were informed by text. Her Mum had recently done Alpha. She was told she would have to have a laproscopy to rectify the problem. This was done on Sunday and she came home on Monday 10th. Her Mum was so pleased to know about us praying, and was encouraged to try too. - A team member's plumber hadn't been able to work due to sciatica which of course created other difficulties. He was back at work on Monday! - A team member's pupil who had a competitive class in the afternoon woke up with a sore throat and hacking cough. She did extremely well in her class - PTL!
- We prayed for a man's son who had tonsilitis and for family members one of whom is in difficulty, for justice and that Jesus' Kingdom will come and His will be done in their lives.
- A believing lady told us that steroids kept polymyalgia under control but they created issues of their own. We prayed into the illness and the cure & also prayed for her hearing as she wore a hearing aid. She was quite stoic afterwards and went away expectant.
- We prayed for a lady who had tinnitis which had caused clicking in the ear and pain in the neck & eye. She received a word of knowledge about harsh words and unkindness. She was very moved and allowed us to pray for restoration of that relationship. She said her ears were improving as she left!
-We prayed for a lady's son who was awaiting MRI results. We prayed for healing, and for peace to replace anxiety and for God to enter into their relationship.
- We prayed by proxy for a man's Mum who is recovering from cancer and had leg pain.
- We prayed for another man for God's wisdom.
- And for another young man we prayed for his Nan who had been suffering from arthritis, and for the charity who he had taken a year out to support. He was so keen to receive prayer despite not yet being a Christian.
- We prayed for a team member's back. She said it felt a bit easier afterwards.

On Monday I had a text from a lady who we had prayed for on Saturday saying her eye strain had improved and that her eye is tic free, and that if her husband had been snoring (we'd prayed about that too) she hadn't heard it since! Its so good to hear the results of prayer. Thank you God!
