Thanks for praying for our most recent outing at the racecourse. Despite the best efforts of the weather your prayers prevailed and we didn't have to put up with more than the odd passing shower. Just as well as it was way too windy to put up the awning!
It was a relatively quiet morning in the main. We met our new friends from last time out. This was the couple who shared, for the first time to anyone, the story of a life-changing miracle which they were still seeking to understand. Since we prayed with them they seem to have been going along nicely and they were pleased to see us again. The same went for a few older contacts who had missed us recently. It seems that our presence there does make a change in the spiritual atmosphere...and for some we are a bit like the market equivalent of the church down the road. They like to know we're there just in case....!
We had a lovely encounter with a man, who was fascinated by what we were doing. We were looking forward to hearing his story when his friend came back to drag him away. But he did insist on staying for a blessing which he really received...somehow we know we will hear his story when we get to Heaven!
Towards the end of the morning we approached a gentleman who was selling watches and various bits of memorabilia, because one of the team had seen a picture of him and knew that God had something for him. It turns out that this lovely man was suffering from leukemia and also the effects of a bitter family breakdown. He poured it all out and wanted to know whether prayer worked as he'd found himself crying out to God a lot recently, not surprisingly. We shared a few testimonies and blessed him and promised to join him in his prayers for breakthrough. One of the team had a lovely booklet entitled in your time of need which was full of such appropriate scriptures. He accepted it gratefully as something that would help him pray.
