Healing on the Streets 31st July 2010

Well hello all you wonderful people. Wherever you are, I pray you are well and happy and joyfully experiencing God's peace. Many of you will have been away to New Wine and had a taster of Healing on the Streets there, in which case, can I encourage you to link up with us and consider joining our team - the more the merrier and the blessings are absolutely amazing - to other people and to us.

Last Saturday was a busy day. We arrived to see a chap selling the local paper in 'our' spot and it struck me that we'd come to give the real Good News. There was a super number of us and the morning was really busy with a constant stream of people coming for prayer and filling the benches. We were all aware of people from other backgrounds, religions or philosophies coming to us quite a lot, and we seemed to be bring Jesus into the understanding of all sorts of people. We really want to share His love, compassion and salvation with the people of Cheltenham, without being judgemental about anyone. After all, I can't speak for the rest of the team, but I know I'm not perfect!

So, here's the list of some of the wonderful interactions we had last Saturday:
  • A gentleman stopped for a chat & told us his wife had left him & he was depressed. He also wanted to find a church. He didn't want to sit for prayer, but accepted our offer to pray for him after he'd gone.
  • We prayed with a regular Muslim visitor for the Holy Spirit to come upon him, which we saw Him powerfully do as he received the peace of God. He sat in His presence for 15 minutes!
  • A lady came with arthritis in her shoulder. She was prayed for, the Holy Spirit invited to come, & then asked if it was any better. She said she felt relaxed & peaceful & it was like she'd had an injection. She really experienced the presence of God & said it felt looser.
  • A lady came to tell us her knee had been healed & that she'd lost 1.5 stone & feels wonderful.
  • A gentleman came to tell us how his pain had been healed about a month ago. Since then, he has been to a psychic reading & is now rather confused. We emphasised it was Jesus who had healed him & that God loves him very very much.
  • Another gentleman came for prayer against cancer last time, so came back for more prayer. He has had peace since last time & lots of reminders to keep looking to God not the illness.
  • A man came with deafness in his right ear and pain in his right knee. His left leg was shorter than the right, but after prayer it was about a centimeter longer than it had been. He said he'll come back next time.
  • A lady spiritualist sat with us. She had lost her father the previous weekend & wanted healing prayer. She sat for ages & said she'd come to visit us at the racecourse.
  • A couple came, both wanting to stop smoking. Las testified to Jesus helping him to stop smoking 30 years ago. They asked for prayer. We also prayed for the lady's knee. They are Christians from another town.
  • A Muslim man asked for prayer against depression that stops him seeing straight & also because it was the anniversary of his mother's death. After prayer he said he was able to see clearly.
  • Some Christians came to talk to us, wanting to set up HOTS in their town.
  • A Muslim couple came for prayer against pain in their legs at night, a sore heel & indigestion. They were quite excited about the opportunity to receive healing from Jesus.
  • A gentleman with carpal tunnel syndrome & arthritis in his knees came for prayer. His leg grew about a centimeter. He will email us to let us know what else happens.
  • We prayed for a number of team members, for peace, a mouth condition, a brother's situation, and an abscess.
  • Another team member with tummy pain had no pain after prayer. She had a picture of a ladder with angels going up & down, telling her that this place is a portal and there's more to come. Hallelujah!
  • A gentleman had prayer against gall stones.
  • Two atheists at different times talked to the same team member. One had been on an Alpha course. The talks were constructive in both cases.
  • A guy came for prayer for his left ear and he said he will come back. His friend, who comes to Trinity, had prayer for his shins.
  • A lady who comes regularly had general prayer & was able to remember an encouraging previous encounter with God.
  • Another regular came for coffee and a chat.

So, more proof that God is good.

May He bless you abundantly,

Alison
