This Saturday about 9 of us went out onto the High Street and God did some amazing things. We had the privilege of a member of the team leading worship on the streets which totally changed the atmosphere on the street (pictured). As I write this I realise that I probably report that 'Saturday was amazing' (or something similar) every time, but let me tell you that this Saturday left us all with beaming smiles at the morning's events. God really does do amazing things everytime we go out but when people give their lives to Christ on one of those benches its extra-special for us. We know that a good number of people we have prayed for over the months have subsequently come into a closer relationship with the Lord, but to see it happen in front of us makes us all feel extra-blessed, I think.
We were nicely busy all morning with a steady stream of happenings and super conversations. Even before we went out we were asked to pray for someone's shoulder. Here are some of the things that happened:
- A lady had prayer for tinnitus & cataracts. Whilst the street was too noisy to tell if anything had happened to the tinnitus, she could see much better after prayer and was able to read a card she'd previously been unable to read.
- A guy had prayer for a chest infection. It felt much better afterwards. Then the team shared the Gospel with him and he accepted Christ as his Saviour, asking Holy Spirit in and for Jesus to have full control of his life. He arranged to come to Trinity the next day and wants to go on Alpha. His chest was much better and his croakiness had gone so he asked for prayer for his toe and that was much better too! Hallelujah!
- A lady had prayer for a broken leg and sore toes. During prayer she said she felt pins & needles in her leg. She was prayed for again. She was touched by the prayer and looked 'lighter'.
- Another lady had pain around her sternum which she thought might be acid reflux. During prayer she felt warmth in that area. She said she would be back another day with someone she knows who has a severe illness.
- A lady spoke about her belief in Buddhism & had a problem with her thyroid. She felt nervous about coming for prayer but may come again. She asked if we would pray for anyone and she was told 'yes'.
- A gentleman had prayer for a degenerative disease in his spine and a torn achilles tendon. He almost gave his life to God. He lives in another town and is interested in Alpha.
- We prayed against the cancer in three ladies known to us. They are all in different situations but we know God loves them equally and is equally powerful in each situation.
- A lady agnostic had prayer that she'd 'be found' by God. We pray she'll find Him.
- A lady who had become a Christian needed prayer to help fight her issues and subsequently we could see the touch of God on her as her face looked somehow different. She wants to come to church.
We had other conversations with people in all sorts of places spiritually. Its just wonderful to be able to listen and introduce Christ into the hearts and minds of people.
God bless each of you as you read this.
